What I Ate Wednesday

Hello there!
I haven't done a What I Ate Wednesday post in quite a while, but here we are!
What I Ate Wednesday is hosted by Peas and Crayons! Fun, Food & Fitness is the theme for July. This means along with my EATS I will also share some of my favorite FITNESS with you... FUN! ;-)
Here we go...
Pre-Workout was my chocolate protein and an apricot just before I hit the gym floor! I recently watched a video post by Natalie Jill that talked about pre-workout meals. She suggested protein with piece of fruit before hitting the gym floor! Check out the video here for more information!

Post-workout I filled up on my favorites! Egg whites, spinach, and zucchini! I love buying the egg whites in the carton already separated. So much easier!!!

I took my lunch to work in this BEAUTY! Super cute lunch bag for girls on the go! ;-)
10:30AM meal came quickly! I chowed down on an apricot, Strawberry CHOBANI, and walnuts! I love the mixture. Here's a fun tip... Plain 0% Chobani as a substitute for sour cream! It taste IDENTICAL!!
I took a picture this morning before heading to work. I added chicken that I cooked in the microwave.
Ziploc Zipn' Steam Bags is how I cooked them. If you haven't tried these steamer bags yet YOU MUST! I really think they are the greatest product for eating healthy. I cook three chicken tenders in the bag with some Mrs. Dash for 7minutes. Moist and fully cooked every time. I cooked today's chicken in a little salsa.
Snack time!!! I had a LaraBar and a scoop of Peanut Butter. Kind of quick... maybe not the best choice, but it worked! =)

I have to share my Tea Tag with you from my Good Earth Tea! I love the Vanilla White Tea!!! YUM!

Dinner is served by my love! Asparagus and steak!! Of course I cut the fat off of it and I didn't quite eat it all before I got full.
Smoothie pops!! Nick made a thick smoothie of strawberries, bananas, and yogurt. Frozen in Popsicle molds they are a great sweet, Summer treat!
FINALLY... here is the FITNESS portion of my What I Ate Wednesday. I like to do a circuit just after I finish my weights before I head to do cardio!

What I Ate Wednesday

What I Are Wednesday is back here on my blog!! =) I almost forgot again this week ;-)
What I Ate Wednesday is hosted by Jenn at Peas and Crayons! It is a great way for all of us Eat-Clean Freaks to share our favorite eats and inspire some new eats ;-)
Post Workout MEAN GREEN SMOOTHIE. 1/4 cucumber, 2 Kiwis, 1/2 banana, handful of kale and spinach, and 1 pear. I blended it all with ice and water!! I had my protein and aminos after my workout.
Blueberries, peaches and Greek yogurt. It looks like a mess, but it's so yummy!!

Don't you know CHAI love you!?! ;-) My tea party for one was a part of the Healthy Diva's Show Me Your Tea challenge. We are half way through the month... it is not too late to check it out!

My favorite meal has to be lunch! I love cooking my chicken in my Ziploc Steamer Bags and creating big salads to enjoy! Today's salad had four chicken tenders, salsa, jalapenos, and brown rice! My favorite dressing to top it off, red wine vinegar!

I didn't take a picture, but I enjoyed my favorite, Chocolate Hazelnut Butter. I love the individual packets that Justin's offers... I actually found them at Target!

I came home to these gorgeous Sunflowers from my love!! I really do believe he makes the world a better place with his big heart! :-)
For dinner, my favorite meal... Lean tacos. I used a 100% whole wheat tortilla so my taco turned in to a burrito! I love the cilantro, lime and onion combination! NO, that is not sour cream :-) it is plain Greek yogurt. I also added some to my fresh strawberries!

I love eating... especially eating clean. It is so fun to create new combinations, look for new teas, and especially fun to feel better.
I am wondering if anyone has any good, clean recipes for Dark Chocolate pancakes! anyone? anyone?
On a separate note, I have been wearing black Target workout pants to the gym, but the more I see Lululemon workout gear... the more I want a pair of their pants. However... the price tag is slowing me down.
If you have any other alternatives of cute, workout clothes... LET ME KNOW!

What I Ate Wednesday- #1

What I Ate Wednesday is hosted by Peas and Crayons and I am very excited to participate in my very first...
What I Ate Wednesday
I start my day between 4:30AM and 5:00AM in order to get to the gym before work to get my workout in! I eat every three hours (usually) unless I start to get hungry... then I eat a snack or my next meal a little early.
Pre-workout- 100% whole wheat toast with a teaspoon of natural peanut butter.
I am also sharing my pre-workout I take. We get these green tea pills at Costco and I love them. I have used numerous pre-workouts that are advertised and the green tea pills are by far my favorite.
Post-workout- I usually have about 5-6 egg whites and a veggie or fruit.
This morning I added a handful of spinach and 1/4 zucchini to my egg whites. I also made a veggie smoothie- half a mango, 8 strawberries, 1/4 C. blueberries, 1/2 banana, handful of Kale & Spinach and a teaspoon of ground flax seed blended with cold water and 10 ice cubes.

10:30AM called for a tablespoon of this peanut butter (which I LOVE), 1/2 cup of oats and 1/2 a banana. I didn't take a picture of my oatmeal mix because well... It looks unappetizing, but it is so good!!

Lunch Time 1:30- I LOVE the Ziploc Steamer bags to cook my chicken and veggies. For lunch I cut up a whole sweet potato put in the steamer bag and put cinnamon and all spice. I microwaved at 3min 30sec. I removed the sweet potatoes and added a 1/4 zucchini and microwaved 3min.

4:30PM- My "wings" meal!
They had wings at work today and I was determined to kill my cravings with a clean version.
Here goes--- 3 chicken tenderloins in a Ziploc steamer for 6min 30sec. I seasoned them after they were cooked with paprika and pepper and added a tablespoon of Franks Red Hot Buffalo Sauce. The sauce is somewhat high in sodium so I am very careful to make sure I measure it. I cut up 3 full stalks of celery and made my own dipping sauce.
Tablespoon Greek Yogurt with pepper, Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb, onion powder, Italian seasoning and dry mustard. I don't have an exact measurement I just put a dash of everything until it begins to taste like a sour cream dip.

7:30 DINNER TIME
Taco Beef Salad- plate of lettuce, sprinkle of fat free Mexican cheese, 5 grape tomatoes, 1 1/2 cup lean ground beef, 2 tablespoons salsa and a teaspoon of Greek Yogurt.
I made my dressing with a teaspoon of lime juice, tablespoon olive oil, tablespoon red wine vinegar, chili powder, pepper, onion powder, red pepper flake... all to taste!

I am loving peach iced tea right now. I don't drink any caffeine after 4PM so this caffeine free tea is perfect ice cold. I put a little hot water in the bottom of the cup with 1 tea bag. Let sit 2 min and then add cold water to fill.
And there you have it, my first What I Ate Wednesday!!
